This is an original Antique dog Watercolour Painting on card featuring a study of a famous St Bernard Dog, the dog which is shown in profile in a country landscape is named to the front bottom right "Hugo Of St Olam", the painting is signed bottom left by the artist D. Johnson it is further inscribed to the rear with the dogs name, it is in good original condition with a very small tear to the top of the card affecting the sky, matted, overall size including matt approx. 11" x 9" the artist Dorothy Johnson was born in 1902 and died in 1988 and from 1930 she began to paint dogs exclusively whilst attending major English dog shows. This is a very good quality oil painting of a rare breed of dog.
