Natural untreated red red/orange Nigerian Spessartite Garnet weighing 5.95ct(+/-.05ct) Stone measures 9.30-9.40mm(L/W) x 6.90mm(D)
A very nice clean stone here in a custom checkerboard crown design. Predominately red in color with slight orange undertone. This material is referred to in the trade and by locals as "coca-cola" spessartite. This was one of my first attempts at a checkerboard crown. The meets are not perfect but this stone is a dazzler none the less. The color and facet design absolutely explode under flourescrent lighting! Even in lowerlight conditions outdoors this stone is still not too dark. I cut this with a shallow pavillion to ensure it stayed bright. Dont let this one of a kind custom slip away.
